Bibliography

“Bibliography.”

“Works Cited.”

“References.”

These words are often enough to induce panic (if not outright terror) in a freshman, particularly if he or she has never written any kind of research paper before. Few understand just how vital a role the bibliography plays as a genre in establishing the writer’s ethos and logos, or how the conventions actually make using the bibliography easier for the reader.

The assignments in this section are designed to help foster that sort of understanding, and they can also help freshmen to structure their research as they explore whatever topics they are pursuing in your class.
